Cristian Borja started his football career at Cortuluá (Colombia). In 2016, whilst on loan to Independiente Santa Fé, he integrated the U-23 Colombian NationalTeam, having played in the Rio Olympic Games. 

In July 2017, he returned to Cortuluá but was later transfered to CD Toluca, México, where he stood out as one of the best in his position. The good exhibitions led him to the Colombian National Team and to Sporting CP where he wants nothing else but to contribute to the Trophy Cabinet.
